KFDA Historic Buildings Coloring Contest

Looking for a fun "Stay Home, Stay Safe" project to work on? We've got one for you. And if you do it well, we might just hook you up with some Downtown Dollars to use in support of your favorite downtown business! With the help of local artist Abigail Schaben*, KFDA has converted some of our most wonderful historic properties into line drawings that are perfect for coloring ... so we're using them for a coloring contest! We have three objectives for the contest: educate the community about some of our downtown historic properties; let you exercise some creativity; and support our downtown businesses.

Here's how it works:

• Click on the photo above of the historic property that is calling out to you for a style makeover, and print it. If you don't have access to a printer and need a paper copy, pick one up at A Leap of Taste, The Daily Bagel, or Gathering Grounds Roastery.  
• Color it, add some elements if you like, or go just go full Picasso and make it awkward for all of us. The only thing we ask is that you make it family appropriate - we want to share with everyone and display your masterpieces in these buildings!
• Submit it to KFDA by 5:00pm on Friday, May 8. Since physical distancing is a thing for the time being, here are four ways you can get it to us. Make sure to include your name, age and contact info:
  • Scan and email it to info@downtownklamathfalls.org 
  • ​Take a picture of it and text it to 541-539-6212 
  • Mail it to PO Box 372, Klamath Falls, Oregon 97601
  • Drop it off at A Leap of Taste, The Daily Bagel, or Gathering Grounds Roastery
• ​Wait patiently to hear if you're a winner! 

Speaking of winners, we'll post all the entries on Facebook and our community will vote on their favorites.  Up to three winners in each of three age categories will win the following prizes:

First Prize​

• ​$50 in Downtown Dollars (choose one downtown business where you want to spend your $50, or get five $10 gift certificates for up to five different businesses); AND
• You pick a downtown business and KFDA will buy lunch for up to 10 of their employees from a downtown restaurant that you pick!

​Second Prize: $25 in Downtown Dollars (one $25 gift certificate at the downtown business of your choice)

Third Prize: $10 in Downtown Dollars (one $10 gift certificate at the downtown business of your choice)

ADULT (13-64 years)

First Prize
