Title: Program Director
Employer: Klamath Falls Downtown Association (KFDA)
Salary Range: $40,000-$50,000 annually, dependent on qualifications and experience
The Klamath Falls Downtown Association is looking for its next Program Director!
Klamath Falls is located in southern Klamath County, which holds a distinct honor as the Home of Crater Lake, Oregon’s only national park. Our downtown and surrounding area boasts a coveted inventory of historically significant properties and several nationally registered historic sites. The downtown district is larger than most in communities our size, but with easy walkability between delectable eateries, diverse retail shops, and four city parks, all within the downtown footprint. Located in the high desert on the eastern foothills of the Cascades, our unique climate offers over 300 days of sunshine every year earning Klamath Falls the title of Oregon’s City of Sunshine. On the rare occasion that the sun doesn’t come out, our downtown is connected to a municipal geothermal loop which keeps sidewalks and crosswalks free of ice and snow during winter months. And multimodal transportation options make for easy connections to nearby commercial and residential areas. Here you’ll enjoy a vibrant downtown atmosphere along with crisp clean air, brilliant blue waters, wide open spaces, breathtaking views, an abundance of rivers and lakes, and numerous protected wildlife areas.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Program Director to coordinate downtown revitalization activities using the Main Street America 4-Point Approach™. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who is energetic, passionate about Downtown Klamath Falls, and can function effectively with limited supervision. Proficient computer skills are required, as are education and/or professional experience in one or more of the following areas: Main Street management, large event management, digital marketing, community development, economic development, planning, urban design, nonprofit management, small business development, grant writing and/or historic preservation. The program director will work the KFDA board to fulfill our mission for a vibrant, prosperous, welcoming downtown. In addition to a competitive salary, KFDA offers a generous paid time off (PTO) package and a performance-based incentive plan.
Our Mission: Klamath Falls Downtown Association (KFDA), formed in 2008, is a group of business owners, professionals, service providers, property owners, and citizens all working together to create, maintain and promote downtown Klamath Falls as an attractive, safe and vibrant place in which to work, shop, live and play. Among many principles, KFDA believes in downtown revitalization, historic preservation, shopping local and supporting the small businesses and entrepreneurs that are the cornerstone of our community.
The Program Director will be responsible for operating, coordinating and managing all operational and strategic aspects of the association, and reports to a board of directors. Essential job functions will include, but are not limited to, event management, volunteer coordination, coordinating our initiatives, grant writing, membership recruitment, developing and using digital tools, graphics and communications, managing social and digital media, website maintenance, membership management, and managing the Oregon Main Street requirements including quarterly reports and attendance at network meetings.
